Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Serves 5

4 ripe bananas

2 1/2 cups whole unsweetened strawberries

2 cups 2% milk

1/8 cup heavy cream

1/8 cup sugar

5 fresh strawberries for garnish


Place all ingredients in a blender and process on ice crush or puree for 3-4 minutes until very smooth.  A frothy, light consistency is the desired texture for a breakfast fruit smoothy, not a heavy thick milk-shake.  Serve immediately.  Garnish with fresh strawberries if desired.

Note: If using large bananas, you may need to add additional milk to achieve proper consistency.

Variation:  Omit strawberries and replace with an equal amount of frozen blueberries.
